I know that there's a saying that says something about the cobbler's children are the ones that go without shoes or with torn shoes, something to that effect. Well, I think the same can be said for the photographer's child :)
I've been meaning to, meaning to, meaning to get around to doing my youngest's 5 year pictures. Well, I had a session today (which I will post in the coming week) so I had my camera out, he looked cute, the light was right, etc. I know these pics go against my "rules" of trying to stay away from logos but ummm, he looked cute! ;)
This is/was my muse. He was the only immobile one that couldn't escape from the camera (couldn't crawl or walk) when I first started out so he was the target of much of my beginning photography. He's now 5 and is still my muse in that he's my most challenging. I think it's a little bit of "oh gosh, mom has her camera out again", and a lot of what we fondly call his spunk ;) .
Without further ado, my baby~
I think I'd be remiss if I didn't mention an important thing about these images. These were done in about an 8 minute span if we count from the time we walked out into the garage until we were done. I know that often times parents are worried that we couldn't have possibly gotten any "usable" images because their child was rambunctious, all over the place, etc. Not true! I mention in my "about me" section on my site that honestly all it takes is that instant click of the shutter and that is so, so true. The proof is above! Maybe not the choice for everyone but I know that I'll be getting a wall portrait done of the 3rd image down of him smiling because that's "his" smile, genuine, and I'm also sure that I'll be getting a wall image done of the next one down with the almost scowl on his face because that is another shade of his little personality. These pictures are him, right now, newly 5, with a sweet smile that can warm your heart but the little mischief maker lurking behind that smile :)
